Kevin Purcell, CPCU Vice President and Principal
Kevin Purcell, who began his insurance industry career in 1983, co-founded IRC with John Battles in 1997.
Prior to the formation of IRC, Kevin was the Manager of Government Relations for Risk Enterprise Management (REM), overseeing the business of The Home Insurance Company, which had been placed into "run-off". In addition, he performed financial, administrative, and regulatory functions for REM Filing Services.
While with The Home Insurance Company through 1995, Kevin was the Manager of Residual Markets and Workers Compensation Administration in The Home's Product Management Department. Beginning in 1989 in The Home's Government Relations Department, Kevin worked closely with the Actuarial, Accounting and Systems areas on regulatory and state filing issues. He coordinated market conduct exams and residual markets, serving on the Boards of the NJ CAIP and the KY WC Reinsurance Pool.
Kevin began his insurance career at Insurance Services Office where he worked for 6 years in both the Commercial Property and Personal Lines Actuarial Departments. He completed three actuarial exams while at ISO. Kevin graduated from Duke University where he earned a BS in Mathematics. Kevin is a member of the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU).
